Cody Wyoming is a wonderfully interesting little
town in the northern half of Wyoming, just about an hour to the
east of Yellowstone National Park. It is definitely "small
town USA" with a population of around 10,000 people. However,
if you truly want a Western Experience for your wedding, there might
be no better place to have your ceremony.
A little bit about Cody first, though. The Shoshone River carves
a deep canyon that runs through the town of Cody. The Shoshone's
headwaters are in Yellowstone National Park. Cody is situated at
about 5016 feet above sea level. Not too high, but still, people
coming in from lower elevations may need a day to adapt to the slightly
thinner air. The weather in Cody can vary greatly with large temperature
swings in a relatively short period of time. If you are planning
a wedding in Cody, you'll need to make sure that you have clothes
to handle these variances, should they occur. The winters are quite
cold, but the summers can have temperatures that soar over 100 degrees!
It's usually pretty dry here, so the heat doesn't seem quite as
bad! Cody does get about 300 days of sunshine a year. Good odds
for having a nice wedding day! The only thing that is kind of a
nuisance is the wind, which is frequent and often times quite turbulent.
Cody's economy is made up mostly from tourism dollars. Many of
the people who visit Cody come because of it's proximity to Yellowstone,
as well as the Western ambience and history that Cody offers. There
are numerous hotels, dining spots, and unique shops that can be
found in Cody. If you have people in your wedding party staying
in the Cody area for several days, you can be sure that they will
be able to find plenty to keep them occupied!

Cody, they will most likely have to connect from a larger city or
town and fly into the Yellowstone
Regional Airport. The Airport is located just two minutes from
downtown Cody, Wyoming, approximately 52 miles from the east gate
of Yellowstone National Park.
Delta Air Lines services this airport from Denver and Salt Lake
City. United Airlines also services several flights. The major highways
