| Setting yourself up for a successful
wedding - Get a good night's sleep! You always hear of the bride to be, or the groom having the time of their lives the night before the wedding. Often times the groom's friends throw the traditional bachelor party which goes until the early morning light. The bride may have a shower that includes plenty of drinks, and plenty of draining games, chat, and gift opening. Our number one tip for a successful wedding is that you get a good night's
sleep the day before your wedding. |

| In Defense of the "Family Only"
wedding: I have heard it time and time again in my old "banquet and catering" days. It's the tired, worn out bride and groom who declare that their wedding has gotten out of control. It's "too big" and "too expensive" and they feel like they have lost control. One solution to this is to have a "family only" wedding. By
doing this, you will most certainly save money, time, and your sanity!
These are becoming more common, as the cost of travel has gone up and
most people simply don't have the time to take a week off of work to attend
a wedding. |

| Budget wedding tip - So you are getting married in the mountains in the summertime? Perhaps you are in the beautiful Rocky Mountains somewhere and you have a lovely cabin, or perhaps you are staying in a comfy bed and breakfast. You suddenly realize that you have forgotten flowers for your wedding (not likely, but for this example, let's pretend). Why not send a few of your bridesmaids on a little nature walk or hike? We'll bet that they will be able to pick some of the most beautiful wildflowers ever! Most people think that they have to rely on a florist for their wedding flowers, when they don't realize that they 'might' be in wildflower heaven at their wedding location! |

Green "Earth Friendly" Weddings Weddings are very wasteful events. From the wrapping paper, to the gifts, to the gas and money needed for travel, and even the leftover food that is almost always tossed out after a wedding dinner or reception. We will be writing a page this week with tips on how to have a "green" or "earth friendly" wedding. Our tip for today - Instead of asking for wedding gifts or having a registry, why don't you ask that your guest donate a small amount to a charitable cause as a wedding gift? This will save on packaging, wrapping paper, and will help towards a good cause! |
